"I will never forget how I met Florabel. I was a waitress working in The Breakaway at St. Francis in Beech Grove. This would have been in either 1995 or 1996. Chub was in the hospital and Florabel would always come down and eat lunch. I had the honor of being her waitress many, many times. She would always ask for me to wait on her. I would spend all the free time I had in between tables, listening to the stories of her and Chub's life together. She was a very special lady and was just one of those people who could pull on your heartstrings with ease. She touched my heart back then and I was extremely happy to meet her later in life. She was a big fan of my Dad, Steve Jeffris. My Dad has played at Wheatley's Fish Fry for years and I was also so happy to see her at his events. Whenever she saw me, her eyes would light up and ignite my heart. Her smile was contagious and she had the ability to make you feel like the most important person in the room. I will miss her dearly and I am filled with joy that she is with Chub, worshipping and honoring our Lord. I look forward to the day that we can be reunited in Heaven.
