Charles O. Tate, 95, of Pendleton, passed away on September 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Redfield, Iowa on March 2, 1922 to the late Charles and Sarah (Combs) Tate.
Charles served his country in the Army during World War II. After the war he worked as a Union Electrician until his retirement. He was a member of the IBEW.
He is survived by grandson, Dean Anthony (Gloria) Tate of California; step-daughters, Susan (Michael Hart) Markle, Lee Ann (Randy) Hamilton; step-daughter in law, Julie Bravo; step-grandchildren, Homer Markle, Lilli Markle, Gina Markle, Kelsey Hamilton, Kyle Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Valarie Tate, and Michael Ashbrook.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Prakel) Tate; step-son, Kent Markle.
The family would like to thank all of his caregivers, especially Dee Keller and Lucretia Mier, and St. Vincent Anderson Hospice.
Per Charles's request, there will be no services. Celebrations of Life will take place with family and friends at a later date. Cremation will take place.
