Condolence & Memory Journal

Jim and Kristin, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Not only was she one of my favorite teachers at Marshall Memorial School in CC, I have so many fond childhood memories as neighbors. I am so glad we were all able to get together and catch up a few summers ago. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I had her as my First grade teacher at Jefferson Center. I surely liked her. Prayers are with her family. ---Laura Hinen

To Helen's family - I remember Mrs. Morris (at that time) at Jefferson Center. I believe she was the librarian at that time. I do remember where her "office/library" was at. She was a sweet lady and I remember her during my elementary school years. It appears she continued her career to far greater fields. I am sure she made a mark on alot of students during her teaching years.

I am sorry to hear of Mrs. Crawford's passing. She was my 5th grade teacher at Southwest Elementary. She was a kind and caring teacher.

My son, had Helen as his gifted and talented teacher for six years(1991-96).He respected her so much, he asked her to award him his diploma, when he graduated high school. As a fellow teacher, I watched her help all Greenwood teachers as the bargaining agent for our contracts. When I retired, she helped me through that process. I am grateful to have known her for a very long time. Thank you Helen...and I pray for her family, that they will be comforted by our Lord, and look forward to seeing her again someday.

My beautiful cousin--a classy dame among classy dames. How ironic that for a whole year while I was undergoing chemo, she was so involved and concerned about me--sending funny stories, joke books and darling gifts commemorating felines. And then, less than a year later came the news that the roles were reversed. Now, my heart is heavy in our loss. As Arthur Schopenhauer so poignantly wrote: "The deep pain that is felt at the death of every friendly soul arises from the feeling that there is in every individual, something which is inexpressible, peculiar to them alone and is therefore, absolutely and irretrievably lost."

Schopenhauer is right; there will never be another Helen List Crawford.
