Tribute & Message From The Family

Robert "Bob" Eugene Terry, of Indianapolis, died September 21, 2020. He was 96 years old. Bob was born February 22, 1924 in Lawrence County Indiana, the son of Walter and Gladys (Robbins) Terry. On October 27, 1945 he married Glenva Bernadene Burton, also of Lawrence County. Bob was a United States Army, world war II veteran, having served as a frontline medic in the 119th infantry attached to the 30th infantry. His service took him to England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Berlin, Germany. He was captured by the German army as a prisoner of war during the Battle of the Bulge. A longtime resident of Indianapolis, he worked at his brothers Shell station for forty years. He then went on to work as a custodian at Burge Terrace Church, where he was a longtime member. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Bernadene; son, Randall; three sisters, June Hurt, Nora Belle Catron, Edith Campbell, and two brothers Clyde and Claude Terry. Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Robert and Carolyn Terry of Plainfield; two granddaughters, Amy Taylor and husband Tim Taylor of Avon, and Angela Felty and husband Ron Felty II of Plainfield; seven great-grandchildren, Jackson Taylor, Caroline Gibson (Noah), Elsie Taylor, McClain Felty (Lindsey), Sutton Felty, Stone Felty (Morgan), McCall Felty. A private graveside service and internment will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker, IN. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory – Franklin Township Chapel.

We have joyful grief upon hearing of Bob's homegoing. We know he is reunited with his dear wife in heaven and is enjoying the presence of God! We truly appreciate his friendship and all his years of hard work here at Burge Terrace. We was a wonderful example of faithfulness! We are praying for his family in this difficult time.
