Tribute & Message From The Family

Dewey "Cecil" White, 88, of Beech Grove, passed away December 4, 2020 in Indianapolis. Cecil was born September 19, 1932 in Mitchell, Indiana to the late Dewey S. and Etta May (Lehman) White.

Cecil married his love, Janet (Bellamy) White on May 25, 1952 and together they raised 4 children. Shortly after marriage, he enlisted in the Army and his country for 2 years in Germany. He was honorably discharged in February of 1954 with the rank of Corporal. After the military, Cecil went to work for Ford Motor Company as a machinist and retired after more than 30 years. He was a member of the UAW. Cecil and Janet were long time members of the Franklin Park Church. In his spare time Cecil enjoyed tinkering in the garage and vacationing with his wife and family. Every summer they would take their camper to Lake Sullivan and spend their time together with family and friends. Cecil was a very hardworking and devoted family man and especially loved the company of his grandkids.

Cecil will be forever remembered by his wife, Janet; children, Jeff (Lisa) White, Robin (Steve) Dean, and Jana (Gary) Cooper; sister, Anna Lou Neff; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Rod and Linda White; and 4 siblings.

Family will receive friends Saturday, December 12 from 10:00am – 12:00pm, with service to begin at 12:00pm, at Wilson St. Pierre, Franklin Township Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis IN 46237. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
