Tribute & Message From The Family

Phyllis Fisher, 92, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away August 28, 2021. She was born April 29, 1929, in Greenwood, Indiana to the late Monte J. & Maude D. Tarter. She worked for twenty-five years for First Photo and was a business owner for ProTek and Cradle Memories with her three children.
Phyllis, along with her husband Leo, were part of a country music quartet, The Country Travellers, who performed regularly at The Little Nashville Opry. She, along with Leo and their children, performed for many years with The Lloyd Wood Show.
She loved spending time fishing at Lake Erie and other local lakes as well as camping and flower gardening. Recently, Phyllis enjoyed the many activities at her senior living community. She was part of a Wii bowling club, directed and acted in several drama plays, and enjoyed playing bingo and euchre. Phyllis was actually known by her family as the euchre queen. She was a lifelong member of Garfield Heights Church of Christ and Stop 11 Road Church of Christ.
Phyllis was preceded in death by five sisters, five brothers, and her husband Albert Leo. She is survived by son Dennis Fisher (Leah) of Noblesville, son Phil Fisher (Jenny) of Greenwood, and daughter Cindy Richardson (David) of Springville. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and making special memories for her grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Center & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, IN. A celebration of Phyllis life will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
