Tribute & Message From The Family

Nicholas Dean Shrum, 74, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, in Greenwood, Indiana. Nick was born in Indianapolis on September 29, 1946 and grew up on the west side. He was the fifth child of Luther Raymond Shrum and Stella (Hunt) Shrum.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles Edward Shrum, and a sister Carol Burton. Surviving him are two older sisters, Judith Ann Thompson of Indianapolis and Sharon Fultz of Solsberry, Indiana and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
From childhood, Nick enjoyed working on old cars, hotrods, and motorcycles with his father. His pride and joy was building a replica of the motorcycle ridden by Dennis Hopper in the movie Easy Rider. He toured seven states with the World of Wheels in 2003 with the machine winning many awards.
He started working in the plumbing business at a very young age. Never afraid of work he was also employed by Rieth-Riley Construction Company. He finished up his working career as a business agent for Teamsters Local No. 716 in Indianapolis. He also was an officer on the pension fund.
Nick was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. Retirement plans were living on sixty acres in Trafalgar in southern Johnson County, but retirement to heaven is better.
Rev. Raymond Smith, Pastor of Emmaus will conduct a service on September 16, 2021, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood, IN 46142. The service will be at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service. He will be entombed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 1977 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
A sincere Thank You to Jim Spinelli formally of Grand Brook Memory Care for all the kindness shown to Nick and to Madeline during the last eighteen months.
Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, Greenwood Chapel.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Madeline, I am so sorry for your loss. I hate that I could not come by the service to see you. My health is not good right now. I have a rare bone marrow cancer. At our age most of us have some kind of issue! I cannot know how you will cope with the loss of your love of your life. I will be praying though and I know you will not go on this journey alone. I hope you can celebrate Nick's life and do something every year that will make him smile! Sending love and prayers, Linda Bornman Stoner

Uncle Nick I love you and you'll be missed by many. I will never forget the motocyle ride you gave me when I was young. Even though you were concerned about me being in a dress, and yes my dress get burned, but we had a blast. I know you're happy and healed. Rest in peace.
