Tribute & Message From The Family

Myra Lynne Hopkins 82 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Monday, October. 4th, 2021. She was born May 7, 1939, in Jasonville, Indiana to the late James & Maryia "Connie" Doyle. Lynne graduated from Jasonville High School and attended Indiana State University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor's of Science degree. While teaching full time, she continued her education earning a master's degree in 1967 also from Indiana State University. She spent the majority of her 38 year career as a guidance counselor for the Indianapolis Public Schools and the Center Grove Community School systems, retiring from the Center Grove School System in 1999.

Lynne was a member of University Heights United Methodist Church, and formed many lifelong friendships as a result of her membership. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family and was always up for a shopping expedition to the toy department with her grandsons. She also enjoyed going out to eat and socializing with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Linda Doyle, daughter, Kathryn Anne (Mark) Dile; three grandsons, Benjamin (Madeleine) Odendahl, Christopher Odendahl, Matthew Odendahl; step granddaughter Monica Dile, great grandchild, Rhodes Odendahl; niece, Andrea Doyle, nephew James "Jay" (Sara) Doyle, 3 great nephews and 1 great niece.

A memorial calling will be Saturday, October 23rd from 1:00 to 5:00 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, IN.


Condolence & Memory Journal

Lynne helped many of my students make their way through the high school experience. I am glad I had the opportunity to work beside her at CG.
