Obituary

After four years of a long, hard fought battle with cancer, Bethe went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 21, 2020. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children. Bethe was born in Buffalo, NY to Alfred and Mamre Bretschger on March 3, 1949. She lived a very fulfilled life. In Bethe's own words, from a document found by her daughters, her most memorable moments include: learning to ski in Mt. Hood, Oregon, growing up in Connecticut with the Great Bretschger Family, Summer's at Crystal Beach, Canada, numerous vacations to Switzerland with Grandpa Max and family, sailing the 'Enzian' with Captain "Dad", being a flight attendant with Voyager 100, summers at Lake Graybrooke with the kids and family, the many winters skiing at King Ridge in New Hampshire with Brandy, vacations with sister Julie and welcoming her grandkids.
She had a great love for her children, sons-in-law's, her six grandchildren, traveling, backgammon, puzzles, wine, and spending time with her endless number of friends. She was incredibly kind, funny, smart, loving and one heck of a fighter. Anyone that knew her would tell you she lit up any room she entered with her smile and positive attitude.
She is survived by her children: Tiffany Hogue (Steve), Brandy Baker (Chris), her sister Julie Funkhouser (Bobby), and two brothers, John Bretschger and Fred Bretschger. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Jordan, Kylee, Alaina, Kaden, Sydney and Austin. Bethe is preceded in death by her father Alfred Bretschger and mother Mamre Bretschger.
A celebration of Bethe's life will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020, on what would have been her 71st birthday. This will take place at Arni's Restaurant, 1691 W. Curry Rd., Greenwood, IN. Feel free to stop by anytime between 5:30pm and 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel.
