Obituary

Betty J. Fritch Bomaster, 85, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away March 28, 2018 at home in Greenwood, IN. Betty was born May 22, 1932 in Centralia, KS, daughter of Levi and Annabelle (Kolb) Fritch. She married Chet Bomaster July 9, 1955, in Iron River, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marvin, Bill, Eldon, Vernon & sisters Millie, Erma, & Wilma, and son Jeffrey. She is survived by her husband, Chet; daughter Jill (Joel) Bond; grandchildren Ashley (Ryan) Davis & Alecia Glover; great grandchildren Natalie and Emily Davis and Hailee Long, who lovingly knew her as Gigi; brothers Carol (Delores) Fritch and Bob (Sharon) Fritch, and many nieces and nephews.

Betty accomplished many things over her lifetime. While her official affiliations included Indianapolis Oasis, Red Hats Society, and Acton United Methodist Church, she helped raise three generations. She was known for her thoughtfulness and generosity as she shared her many gifts and talents as an awesome cook and Marion County Fair prizewinning baker, line dancer, gardener, expert seamstress and embroiderer, crafter, preservist, and event coordinator. She could make all those things happen in a single occasion too.

She was a woman of faith who led by example. Betty was practical and frugal, teaching us how to be responsible and charitable stewards of our time and treasures. Betty loved her home state of Kansas and was an exuberant KU fan. She was a world traveler and enjoyed RVing with family and friends. She was known for her witty sense of humor, often using anecdotes of an era gone by, such as "It'll all come out in the wash," "You'll have to get glad in the same pants you got mad in," "It takes a village," and "When it rains, it pours."

Betty's legacy, though, is that of love. Love for her husband of 62 years, love for family, and love of friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Prayer Blanket Ministry at Acton United Methodist Church at 5650 Senour Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46239, 317-862-2588.
