Cecil "Frank" May, age 87, of Greenwood, passed away on Monday December 31, 2018 at Aspen Trace Family First Senior Living Center in Greenwood.
Frank was born in Jackson County, IN on April 14, 1931 to Melvin Cecil May and Lula Pruitt May. On May 21, 1949, he married the love of his life, Ruth Yeary May, who survives. Frank worked for over 31 years as a traffic engineer with AT&T in Indianapolis. After retirement in the 1987, he loved to spend time woodworking, restoring antique cars, and spending time with family and friends. He also loved working outdoors and on his log cabin at his farm. Frank was a member of Meridian Church of God and attended Southland Community Church in Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ruth May; two children, Dennis May (Margaret) of Indianapolis and Terri Young (Kenneth) of Franklin; four grandchildren, Sarah Holland, Ross May, Morgan Voris and Kristen Young; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Grayson; and one sister, Imogene Jenkins.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bonnie Fields.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, at 10AM at Meridian Church of God, 7800 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis. A visitation will be held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, on Friday evening from 5:00-8:00PM and again on Saturday morning at the church from 9:00AM until the time of service. Entombment will take place immediately following the funeral at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
