Cris Eugene Shortt, age 47, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday evening, October 2, 2016 at Community Hospital South.
Cris was born on September 22, 1969 to Arthur L. Shortt and Esther L. Allgire Shortt. He was a1990 graduate of Decatur Central High School. On May 19, 2007, he married Lynn (Hoopes) Shortt, who survives. Cris worked as a laborer for Lids. He also worked at Polaris in Indianapolis as a Lab Tech. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs Fan as well as an Indianapolis Colts Fan. He was also a Civil War Re-Enactor with the 4th Virginia Company. He was an award winning actor as the "Grave Digger" at Fright Manor Haunted House in Indianapolis. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Lynn Shortt of Indianapolis; his parents, Esther Shortt of Greenwood and Bob Shortt and Dan Smith of Indianapolis; one grandmother, Grandma Kag of Greenwood; one daughter, Samantha McKim of Cambridge, OH; one sister, Shannen Shortt (Pam Cole) of Indianapolis; two brothers, Todd Shortt (Carrie Daniels) of Indianapolis and John Fultz (Jenny) of Jamestown; In-Laws, Bill and Linda Hoopes of Franklin; nieces, Tina, Kelly and Julie; nephews, Hunter, Quentin, Kyle and Dylan; his beloved fur babies, Puggs, Moe and Candy.
A funeral service for Cris Shortt will take place at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Servies and Crematory, 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142 on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. The family will receive guests from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Indianapolis Animal Care and Control.
