Deborah "Dede" Davisson Garrison, 73, of Greenwood, Indiana died Friday, September 3, 2021. Dede was born on August 23, 1948, in Waynesboro, Virginia to Edwin and Mary (Spillman) Davisson. Dede grew up in Indiana, then spent twenty-five years in Texas before returning to Indiana. After graduating from high school, she attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Indianapolis, and her master's degree from Indiana University. Dede taught English at Tri-West Middle School in Hendricks County, Indiana.

As a child she attended All Souls Unitarian Church in Indianapolis but converted to Catholicism when she married Doug Garrison.
At a younger age Dede was a competitive swimmer but continued to enjoy swimming for her entire adult life. She was active in St. Mary's Alter Society of Frydek, Texas and Hoosier Doll Collectors.

Dede had a cheerful outlook and was a lover of people. She was a talented artist and an innovative craftswoman and was loved by family and friends for her thoughtful hand-written cards and notes.

In addition to her father, Dede is preceded in death by husbands Ray Lawless and Doug Garrison. She is survived by her mother Mary Davisson; son and daughter-in-law Ben and Natalie Phillips; granddaughters Elise and Corinne; sister, Mimi and brother, Ed "E.O."

Celebration of life services are Saturday, September 25th at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel at 3:00PM. There will be gathering time from 1:00 PM until time of service. Burial with private graveside service will take place at Sugar Grove Cemetery near New Richmond, Indiana at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church or charitable organization of the donor's choice. Final arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory.
