Obituary

Donnie M. Branagan, 60, passed away Saturday evening January 4, 2020. He was a resident of Greenwood.

He was born December 22, 1959 in Somerville, MA to John V. Branagan and Helen (Donovan) Branagan. He grew up in Somerville, MA, and graduated from Somerville High School.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Branagan of Greenwood; three daughters, Michelle Howard (Dustin) of Greenwood, Robin M. Miller (Zack) of Belle Chasse, LA, and Alison M. Lovings (Michael) of Greenwood; four sisters, Karen Flynn (Richard) of Boston, MA, Linda Valenti (Robert), June DeMatteo of Woburn, MA, and Jacqualine Schmitt (Anthony) of Indianapolis; three brothers, John Branagan (Caroline Francis) of Boston, MA, Daniel Branagan (Jayne) of Greenwood, and Robert Branagan of Greenwood; and four grandchildren, Allyssa Patterson, Jack Howard, Lilly Miller and Aiden Lovings.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father, John V. Branagan, on November 21, 1991.

Now retired, he formerly worked as an appliance repairman for Sears, and was a truck driver. He was also a self-employed repairman his entire life, always helping others at any time of day or night.

He attended Our Lady of the Catholic Church in Greenwood. When he was a resident of Massachusetts, he attended the St. John's Catholic Church in Cambridge, MA.

Donnie was an avid fan of the New England Patriots.

Most all of you would find Donnie in his garage, working on something for someone. He was a self-taught mechanic, who could just listen to an engine and tell what needed to be fixed. He was everyone's "go to" when they had questions or needed something fixed and correctly the first time. He could fix anything from a small toaster to an 18 wheeler and anything you could fit in-between. There was nothing this man could not do.

A memorial gathering will take place Wednesday from 4-6PM, at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street. A memorial service will follow at 6PM at the funeral home.
