Obituary

Douglas W. Sprague, age 71, husband of Pamala, of Greenwood, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Doug was born on January 14, 1947 in Long Island, NY to the late Raymond W. Sprague and Carolyn (Brown) Sprague. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. In December of 1990, he married the love of his life, Pamala, who survives. Doug worked for 20+ years as a contract manager at ABM in Indianapolis. Doug adored his family and they adored him. He enjoyed music, IU Basketball and was a life-long "crazy" Boston Red Sox Fan. He loved to see those home runs over the "Green Monster", but Doug has made the ultimate home run to Heaven, free from pain at last. If you ever asked about Doug, anyone that knows him always said "he's everyone's favorite". He will be missed beyond words.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 28 years, Pamala (Shaw) Sprague, four children, Michael Sprague (Shirley) of Mooresville, David Sprague (Amy) of Indianapolis, Natalie Sprague (Brian Burton) of Indianapolis and Ryan Oakes (Kyla) of Middletown, IN; his step-mother, Gloria Sprague of New Hampshire; three siblings, Paul Sprague (Brenda) of Ohio, Debbie Gladstone and Donna Dow (Alan) both of New Hampshire; 18 grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew, Daniel (Amber), Kreig, Jordan (Allison), Tyler, McKenzie, Emily, Garrett, Morgan, Emma, Madison, Sagellyn , Rebecca, Melanie, Reece, Emma and Anna; and eight great-grandchildren, Gavin, Liam, Ashlyn, Kailyn, Bryn, Finlee, Emmett and Maddox.
Funeral services for Doug will be held on Thursday, November 8, at 11:00AM at Wilson St. Pierre-Greenwood Chapel. Burial will follow immediately at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, November 7, from 5:00 – 8:00PM and again on Thursday morning from 10:00AM until the time of service.
Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home or memorial contributions can be made in Douglas Sprague's memory to Community Cancer Center South, 1440 E County Line Rd Ste 3200, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
