Emma Frances Elbracht, 97, passed away September 17, 2021. She was born July 2, 1924, in Shelbyville to Alfred and Emma (Nash) Estell. Emma graduated from Moral Township High School in 1942. She married Arthur Elbracht, Sr. on January 12, 1946. In her younger years she worked for Western Electric. Later in life she worked for Community Hospital South as a Unit Secretary for 12 years, before retiring in 1989. Emma was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church and served on the Alter Guild and with the Ladies Aid. Her strong faith in God assisted her during difficult times, including surviving breast cancer twice, and kidney cancer. She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren throughout the years and her four greatgrandchildren. Emma was an excellent seamstress, crafter, and quilter. She was a longtime member of the Quilter's Guild of Indianapolis. In her later years she enjoyed working puzzles and reading her Kindle. She is survived by her sons, Arthur (Sharon) Elbracht, Jr., John (Lou Ann) Elbracht; a daughter, Dena Elbracht; grandson, Jason Elbracht; and granddaughter, Breanne (Shawn) Elbracht Cline and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Elbracht, Sr., her parents, and two sisters. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 9 to 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, 6630 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Indy SurviveOars. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, Franklin Township Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
