Joann Hotchkiss Ewick, 82, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018. She was a resident of Greenwood.

She was born February 18, 1936 in Schenectady, NY to Allen and Helen (Hall) Hotchkiss. She married Charles Ray Ewick on June 14, 1958 in Shelbyville, IN. He preceded her in death August 29, 2009. Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Mary Ann) Ewick of Columbus, and David (Peggy) Ewick of Southfield, MI; brother, David Allen (Sharon) Hotchkiss of Murphy, NC; seven grandchildren, Charles Hobson Tate, III, Joan Allyn Tate, Joseph Daniel Ewick, Benjamin Phillip Ewick, Amanda Rene Willis, Jonathon Andrew Stretshberry, and Chelsea Rachelle Stretshberry; and four great grandchildren, Gabriel Klare-Wolfa, Madilyn Grace Tate, Jacob Alan Willis, and Jack Thomas Willis.

She earned her bachelors degree at Kansas State University.

Joann was a lifelong Librarian, and helped start a library in Mt. Zion, IL and the Greenwood White River branch. In the 1960's, she also was a bookmobile librarian for the Indianapolis Public Library. She later worked at the Franklin Library, as well as the library at the Greenwood Village South.

She was active with the Indiana Library Federation and the Audio-Visual Roundtable.

There will be a Celebration of Life memorial at the Greenwood Village South meeting room on Saturday, April 7, from 2-4PM. She will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Greenwood Village Library Memorial Fund, 295 Village Lane, Greenwood, IN 46143.
