Obituary

Joseph "Joe" T. Taylor, 56, of Whiteland, IN, passed away from this life on October 17, 2021, after years of battling MS, and recently a stroke. His family and friends are comforted knowing his pain and suffering has ended, and his wish was fulfilled to run in Heaven to his departed loved ones he missed dearly.
Joe was born May 28, 1965, in Indianapolis, IN, to Russell Taylor and Mary (Cannon) Taylor. He married his devoted wife of 20 years, Tamara Tex on November 2, 2001, in Sevierville, TN. She lovingly survives.
Joe was a 1984 graduate of Edinburgh High School. He had been a firefighter from 1984 - 1986 for Amity Volunteer Fire Department. He loved that chapter of his life, especially being part of the Franklin College Fires that were famous in 1985. He was a delivery driver and warehouse laborer as his career for Circuit City and Comfort Seating until they both closed. He worked as a car salesman for various dealerships until his health prevented him to work anymore in 2009.
To say Joe loved cars is an understatement. He enjoyed everything and anything about them. He enjoyed going to car shows with his Z28 Camaro and Mustang and cruising the Suds with his family. He also enjoyed riding his Harley, and was proud when his family was represented as the Riley Miracle Ride poster family for 2003. He liked to be outside spending time with friends, family, and his dogs. He spent most of his time watching his favorite shows Longmire, Yellowstone, The Curse of Oak Island, Beat Bobby Flay, and of course NASCAR, Notre Dame Football and Snoopy (Joe Cool) was his way of life. He never missed a game and fulfilled his dream of attending the Navy vs. Notre Dame home game in 1999.
Joe was a Past Master Mason of the Jubilee Lodge No. 746, F. & A. M. Whiteland, IN and an active member since March 13, 2002. He belonged to the Abate of Indiana since 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara Taylor; his daughter, Kiley Taylor (her fiancé, Stang); his sons, Ray (April) Mills, Aaron (Jana) Taylor, Jay Taylor, and Justin (Ashley) Taylor; five grandchildren from Justin, and newest grand daughter, Maria Pearl Mills; his sister, Brenda Taylor; brothers, Jeffrey (Annette) Taylor, and Robert Taylor; his aunt, Lois Threlkel; his mother, Mary Taylor; and sister, Debby (Paul Horne). Along with several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Taylor; his brother, Donald Taylor; and two grandchildren.
The family encourages wearing Notre Dame or Snoopy shirts to share in his love as a fan.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial visitation on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 5:00 pm until the time of the masonic service at 7:00 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St. Greenwood, IN 46142.
