Obituary

Lela Mae Bieda

94, passed away Tuesday morning, August, 28, 2018 after a brief illness. She was a resident of Greenwood IN.

Lela was born May 16, 1924 in Westfield, IL. Her parents, were George Kyle and Laura Lee (Siron) Malcolm. Lela's husband of 66-years, Anthony J. Bieda, preceded her in death, as did her daughter, Laura (Bieda) Furr. Survivors include: brother, Ralph G. Malcolm, son, Michael (Rhonda) Bieda; three grandsons, Matthew Bieda, Joshua (Kaitlyn) Furr, Nathan (Loren) Furr and great granddaughter, Samantha Furr.

Lela was a homemaker and devoted wife to Tony and a beloved mother to Michael and Laura, and grandmother to Matthew, Nathan and Joshua and great grandmother to Samantha.

Before moving from Indianapolis to Greenwood, Lela and Tony were members of St. Pius X parish and thereafter, members of our Lady of the Greenwood parish in Greenwood. They were 30-year members of the Indiana (Square) Dancer's Association; where Tony was a past President. As volunteers, Tony and Lela promoted and hosted local square dances. They traveled the U.S. for several decades attending square dances and square dance national conventions.

We celebrate Lela's well-lived life of 94-years. Up until only a few weeks before her passing, Lela was driving and living life to the fullest by herself and on her own terms. She was blessed with healthy longevity and a loving, supportive family.

Private visitation and services will be held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home and at Lela's Catholic Parish of Our Lady of the Greenwood. Entombment will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Indianapolis IN.
