Obituary

Richard "Dick" James Pauls began his life journey on August 6, 1922 in Chicago, Ill, with the Lord entrusting him to Richard James Pauls and Lorean Gertrude (Breedlove) Pauls.

During his time on earth, he lived in Fairland for many years. In January 1941, Richard enlisted in the US Navy. On December 7, 1941 Richard was proudly serving on the USS Medusa in Pearl Harbor, HI. He would later be identified in a time honored group known as the Pearl Harbor Survivors and The Greatest Generation.

After Richard's service to our country, he went on to become a Chief Chemist at Citizens Gas & Coke Utility in Indianapolis; retiring after 37 years.

Richard spent his retirement days traveling, golfing, or fishing.

He was a long standing member of Greenwood Christian Church and the Franklin Masonic Lodge #107, F. & A.M.

Preceding Richard in death are two wives, "Bert" Morgan Pauls and Fran Adamson Pauls; three brothers, Robert Pauls, Tom Nelson, and Jack Nelson; and step-son, Paul "P.D." Adamson.

Those left to carry on his legacy include daughter, Kyle Rene Wehr (Tom) of Fairland; son, Jerry Lee Pauls (Judy) of Wanamaker; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard lived a life of love and adventure. He went to his eternal home to rest in the arms of Jesus on Friday, July 14, 2017.
