During the evening of February 18, 2019, Stephanie L. Dart (Keller) Davids left this life of suffering for her place in God's arms at the age of 83. Stephanie was born October 18, 1935, in Franklin, Indiana, to Manford and Hazeldell Dart, both of whom preceded her in death. Likewise, Stephanie had a brother, Richard Dart (wife Naomi), who preceded her in death as well. Stephanie is survived by her husband of nearly 34 years, Robert L. Davids; her two sons and their wives, Scott and Jill Keller of Pendleton and Stephen and Jean Thurston-Keller of Ventura, California; two grandsons and their wives, Graham and Kaitlyn Keller of Westfield and Seth and Megan Keller of Pendleton; one great-granddaughter, Sloane Keller of Westfield and a great-grandson who is on the way. Stephanie is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law Naomi Dart, as well as three step-sons: Bob, Barry and Scott Davids.
Stephanie was a 1953 graduate of Franklin High School in Franklin, Indiana. She earned her B.A. in Education from Ball State Teachers College in 1958 and her Masters in Art Education from Ball State University in 1971. During her undergraduate years, she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority.
Stephanie was defined by four things: being a Christian and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Anderson; a loyal wife; a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; and, perhaps, most importantly an educator for 35 years at Markleville, Fall Creek, Ingalls Schools, and East Elementary, where she was an art teacher for her last 20 years. She dedicated her life to education and was an inspiration to the whole family, many of whom followed her lead into education. Stephanie was a member of ADK teacher organization, a former member of Tri-Kappa, a long-time 4-H judge in fine arts and a volunteer at Outfitters.
