Zetta Hamilton Brooks, age 80, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Zetta was born to the late Oscar and Mary (Tackett) Osborne in McDowell, Kentucky.
Zetta enjoyed gardening and cooking, she was an avid IU Basketball, Indianapolis Colts, and Indiana Pacers fan. In her free time she enjoyed listening to and writing gospel and bluegrass music, including co-writing the 1998 bluegrass song of the year, "Lonesome Old Home". Most of all, she loved Jesus, and spending time with her loving family.
Zetta is survived by her children: Patty Bausum (Dan), Terry Hamilton, Eddie Hamilton (Paula), Penny Riley, and Dewayne Hamilton (Donna), brothers: Tavis Osborne, Oscar "Bubby" Osborne Jr., sisters, Beatrice Root, Hazel Reed, Betty Frasure, Nora Pinney, and Brenda Snow. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Ed Hamilton and Harold Brooks, two siblings, Kenneth Osborne and Bethel Lang and one granddaughter, Joy Bausum.
A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13th from 2-4 PM at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Franklin Township Chapel, 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis. A celebration of life will follow at 4 P.M.
Due to CDC guidelines, all guests are required to wear a face covering during the visitation and service.
